Transformationist Vision

Romans 12:2 "And do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that ye may prove what is good, and acceptable, and the perfect will of God."

Our individual behavior and our particular lifestyle, is the best way we can extend our lives and maintain optimal health throughout our life. But why is it so difficult to change? How can the frustration be overcome when with every attempt we make to change we revert back to our familiar behavior and lifestyle. The reason is quite simple; we have not been transformed from the behavior and lifestyle that we so desperately want to change. As a society, we are constantly being bombarded with junk food and junk information. Info-mercials with paid celebrities, scientific research with flawed studies and outcomes that favor and promote “big-pharma” drugs. The majority of American's health beliefs and choices conform to what is acceptable by the world, therefore, a sincere change cannot occur. A change in behavior and lifestyle requires the renewing of our minds daily toward our health objective and seasoned daily with PERSEVERANCE.

The daily work of perseverance is to keep us steady with continuous action despite life’s circumstances and set-backs . We are changing and rearranging things in our life and, in some cases, people.

To become responsible and accountable for our health will take what I call Focus Filled Faith.

Every day when you open your eyes to a brand new day a new opportunity awaits you to make a health decision. In the Old Testament,

Deuteronomy 30:19 God has given us this message, "I have called heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live."

This scripture lets us know that our action and decisions have consequences that not only affect us but our children and their children. You may be saying to yourself, "How does this have anything to do with my health or my family?" It actually has everything to do with your health and family. When you go to the doctor you are asked if any of your family had a history of certain dis-eases. Usually it's heart disease, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, stroke, and so forth. In some of it can be genetically based but in most cases the cause is poor quality food, poor choices, and lack of exercise. If you choose to prepare and eat the same foods that caused your parents dis-eases because this is the way you were raised you will receive the same dis-ease outcome as your parents. Now, is that a blessing or a curse?

It's a curse but it doesn't have to stay a curse. You can change the outcome. The opportunity to change from a life of decreased health to a life of increased health has been set before you. What will it be? John the Apostle left us three love letters. In the third letter,

3 John:2 he tells us "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things, and be in health, just as your soul prospers."

God desires us to be in health, not outside of health. When we are inside health we are sound in Spirit, Mind and Body. If we are outside of health there's a disconnect from God's perfect will that he has for us. This is not science base but God's base. Science can be right some of the time but God is right all of the time. You may be saying to yourself, "I'm not disconnected from God’s perfect will for my life. I go to church, I love God, I take good care of my family, I'm successful in my career, I'm kind and generous to others." All those things are good from man/world viewpoint but from God's view it's not enough. If we are prospering in every aspect of our life but not in our health we are not being a good manager of our health. Our physical bodies are a valuable asset. In a love letter from Paul in

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 established this fact. "Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were brought with a price. So glorify God in your body."

These two verses let us know how valuable our bodies are to God.

All of us are at least vaguely aware that lack of regular exercise, unhealthy food choices, cigarette smoking, over-indulging in alcoholic and carbonated, sugary beverages, polluted air, lack of sleep and electromagnetic pollution are the heavy hitters. They rob the quality of life, accelerate aging and cause premature death today.

As a health, nutrition and fitness Transformationist my moral obligation to you is that being healthy is more than just looking the part externally. It's more than giving up red meat, it's more than becoming a vegan, it's more than running a marathon. We are first and foremost spiritual beings housed in a physical body. Therefore our spirit should be directed by the Holy Spirit who dwells within us if we are believers. God has given us something much more precious than all the info-mercials, celebrities, and scientists, and doctors who, as a society, we rely so much upon. He has given us himself through his son Jesus who entered into the earth realm as a man to demonstrate to us who we are and what we are capable of doing. Some may think this a myth and that is their choice. I am not here to debate, convince or sway any one from their belief but to inform all who enter into this site that God love you and desire for you to prosper in your health.
